New partnership hopes to boost British exports

British export credit agency Atkins International has teamed up with UK Export Finance (UKEF) in a bid to boost UK export opportunities, it has emerged.

International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox announced the move yesterday at the British Government’s first ever UK Trade and Export Finance Forum.

Speaking at the event, Dr Fox said that the partnership would help to boost British exports through deals with Atkins International and the Dubai World Trade Centre, by helping to grow the company’s supply chain in Britain.

He said that UKEF and Atkins would work together to identify new opportunities for UK-based suppliers of engineering and infrastructure on Atkins’ projects – a move which it is thought will help British firms to secure business across as many as 15 global markets.

Commenting, Dr Fox said: “The UK’s reputation for high-quality manufacturing and highly-skilled construction is renowned the world over.

“This Government, through UK Export Finance, is taking a proactive approach to bringing business to the UK, with wide-reaching benefits for both individual UK businesses and the UK export economy as a whole.

“In UK Export Finance, the UK’s export community truly has a world-class export credit agency.”
