Businesses invited to join a week of international trade events

British importers and exporters have been invited to join an event described as ‘a great opportunity for British business.’

For the second year, the Department for International Trade (DIT) has announced it will be running International Trade Week, a series of events dedicated to boosting UK trade. It will run from 31 October to 4 November.

Last November’s event included workshops hosted by ministers, MPs and trade advisers and sessions focused on trade with the US, doing business in the Middle East, and unlocking India’s e-Commerce potential.

The four key themes for this year’s event are:

  • Discovering how to trade internationally
  • How to find new global markets through free trade agreement updates and market overview sessions
  • Discovering key investment opportunities
  • Understanding the UK’s place in trade as a force for good: with emphasis on support available for female, black, Asian, minority ethnic and LGBTQ+ owned business

In a post on Twitter the DTI said: “International Trade Week is back: 31 October to 4 November We invite UK businesses of all sizes to take part and get help maximising their overseas potential.”

‘Unprecedented opportunities’

Marco Forgione, Director General of the IOE&IT, said the event presented unprecedented opportunities.

He added: “This year’s International Trade Week comes at an opportune moment. It is imperative that Government and industry support British businesses to take advantage of the unprecedented opportunities presented by the UK’s new and upcoming free trade agreements.”

How do I sign up?
