Alain acts for a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, providing proactive financial planning, business mentoring and financial therapy services.  Alain specialises in company and employee tax incentive schemes, company valuations, company acquisitions and disposals and business advisory work. Alain is also bilingual in French.

Alain is a keen cyclist and has participated in various fund raising cycle rides. Alain is also involved in charity work and is the Honorary Treasurer of the UK Committee of Shaare Zedek Hospital.

He is a Spurs fan and attend matches regularly at the “Lane” as well as Wembley! Alain lives in North London and has two beautiful daughters.

Alex joined Grunberg & Co in October 2011 having completed his training and early career with one of the UK’s top 50 accountancy practices. Since then he has worked within the firm’s Audit and Accounts team, where he primarily works with owner managed businesses, including those in the insurance and property investment sectors. Having been promoted to Manager in April 2014, Alex became a Partner in October 2017.

Alex is also involved in the training and recruitment of staff at the firm and plays an active role in helping the firms students through their studies to eventual qualification.

Whilst not in the office, Alex can usually be found at Craven Cottage following his beloved Fulham FC.

Gedalia joined the firm as an audit senior in 2010 and was made Partner in April 2014.

Gedalia heads up the Firm’s audit department and is responsible for all the audit work in the Firm. He specialises in complex audit and accounts issues, and advises businesses in a wide range of sectors from FCA regulated entities, to travel and property development companies as well as charities.

As head of Audits, Gedalia has responsibility for the design and implementation of the firm’s audit systems and provides training on accounts and audits. He has also lectured at the ICAEW on audit related topics.

Gedalia is a proud father of two boys who keep him both busy and entertained with their antics.

Tax Partner of the firm, assists clients with tax planning and tax problems! Peter joined Grunberg & Co in 2005 and was made a Partner in 2011. Peter started life as an accountant but soon realised in 1999 that the world of taxation is where his heart belonged and decided to pursue his career as a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Peter works with all of the Partners looking at various tax planning ideas for our clients to minimise and mitigate tax wherever possible! Peter assists our client’s with their day to day tax compliance and administration in the ever more complex world of taxation as well as implementing taxation strategies and planning solutions.

Peter enjoys working with the vast variety of clients that we have and the Firm’s ethos and family feel.   Peter is also a dab hand when it comes to tax enquiries and dealing with the Revenue.

Robert qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995. He has been involved with Grunberg & Co since 1999, becoming a partner in 2001 and Managing Partner in 2007.

His specialities are TV production companies and business/individuals involved in the TV and film industries together with design, computer and general SME clients. He is heavily involved with IT, accounting software and systems and regularly deals with business development for clients.

Robert is an avid Spurs supporter and season ticket holder, regularly plays football and enjoys watching most sports. He is into gadgets and new IT.

He is also the Honorary Treasurer for the Miracles charity, which creates little “miracles” for those in need together with giving Humanitarian Aid and the creation of a Centre for Prosthesis and Care in one of the worst land-mined countries in the world, Bosnia.

He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and son.

FCCA

Sanjay manages a varied portfolio of SME and OMB’s that range across several different sectors which include professional services, manufacturing, recruitment, property development and retail to name a few.  He oversees our ‘Business Cloud department’ that handle the accounting processing using a range of Cloud based software’s and advising clients on making improvements to their existing systems and record keeping.

In addition, he deals with client’s business needs and aims to provide the value-added service to which they are accustomed to receiving efficiently and effectively from Grunberg & Co.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, namely his wife and two children and socialising with friends and family.

ACCA

Herman joined the firm in 2015 and works with our audit and audit and accounts department as a Partner. He has a vast amount of experience working with audits, accounts and corporate tax.

Nimesh has been working in tax for over 10 years, including two of the big 4 firms.

Following a start to his career in personal tax, Nimesh moved on to transaction tax where he advised on a broad range of tax issues and developed a strong technical background.

He regularly advises on complex matters in most areas of tax which include:

Non-domiciled and non-UK resident individuals

Capital gains tax on disposals of assets and the use of reliefs to mitigate gains

Outside of the workplace, Nimesh likes to travel, having a particular liking for Central and South America.

Kate has recently joined the firm in the newly created role of Company Secretarial Junior, spending her time assisting Fatima with corporate administration and statutory compliance.

I started working at Grunberg & Co in 2015 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2019.

I was later made an Audit & Accounts Senior in 2019 and I now work completing audits and larger accounts assignments, as well as assisting clients with their management accounts.

APPROACH TO WORK

I have a strong work ethic and enjoy being able to assist clients with solving any accounting issues that they have, as well as getting to the bottom of tricky problems that can occur during the preparation of financial statements.

ACCA

I joined Grunberg & Co in 2012 and qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 2020.

I work with the Audit & Accounts department preparing financial statements and Corporation Tax computations for limited companies, SME, start-ups covering various sectors including property, recruitment and hospitality.

Having joined Grunberg & Co in July 2012 as an AAT Trainee, Charlotte achieved ACA qualification in December 2016 and is now an Associate Director in the accounts and audit department.

During her time with the firm, she has been responsible for leading many of our large and multinational group audits, mentoring junior members of staff and has overseen the preparation of unincorporated accounts.

As an Audit & Accounts Manager, Charlotte is now involved in ensuring the smooth running of the department and is a main point of contact for many clients.

Outside of the office, Charlotte loves nothing more spending time with friends and family and exploring new places, often with a glass of prosecco in hand!

I joined Grunberg & Co in 2015 as an Accounts Trainee and I have worked my way up through the ranks, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2019.

I am experienced in auditing and accounting for entities ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational billion-pound companies, including AIM-listed organisations.

I regularly deal with both well-established and start-up businesses, offering advice and expertise to clients in a proactive manner.

In 2018, I made it to the final of the IRIS Accountancy Awards having been nominated for the ‘Trainee of the year’ Award.

I pride myself on my attentiveness to client’s needs, ensuring that they can rely on me to be there for any questions that they may have.

Norbert manages Alain’s portfolio of clients mainly owner managed business. He also looks after  and train junior members of staff and allocates jobs to members of staff.  He is responsible for looking after solicitors  and FSA regulated clients.

In his spare time he likes socialising with friends, watching sports and going to see Spurs in action.

AAT

Ron is a Senior Auditor who has been with Grunberg & Co since 2002. Ron is mostly involved in the preparation of accounts for small and medium size companies.  He also prepares accounts for charities, partnerships and sole traders and assists the payroll and personal tax departments when the need arises.

In his spare time he enjoys dancing and meeting up with friends for dinner.  Ron has two grown up sons, one living and working in Japan taking a Master Degree in Japanese language, history and culture. Ron’s other son is married, lives in London and works for Credit Swiss.

Stefan is a Senior in the accounts and audit team. He previously worked as a lifeguard and is an accounting and finance graduate from London Metropolitan University.

Sorcha is the Personal Assistant to our Senior Partner, Alain Stechler.

In her spare time she enjoys walking, cooking and travelling.

I completed a three-year undergraduate degree, a postgraduate diploma, the ITC and APC board exams. As a result, I’m eligible to register as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa. Having started my career as a school leaver, I achieved my chartered accountancy qualification at 25, even after missing a year of education, an achievement of which I am incredibly proud.

I have experience dealing with large group audits.  A recent accomplishment was overcoming a significant delay to a large group of audits.  The delay caused other issues which we had to problem solve. However, as a team, we managed to complete all the audits with some strategic planning and a great team effort. These are the sorts of projects I love.

I enjoy sports and the outdoors in general.

I’m an ATT & CTA qualified Tax Manager with over 10 years of experience in personal tax & private client tax roles.

I’m a specialist in complex tax issues for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates.

I’m also highly experienced with tax cases with niche aspects that are rarely encountered, and I provide support with a range of complex tax issues and ad-hoc queries to ensure that clients receive the best advice and remain compliant.

I am excellent at researching tax opportunities and considering all the relevant factors to build planning packages that minimise tax and fit the lifestyles of our clients.

When it comes to Inheritance Tax, I offer solutions to ensure wealth passes smoothly to future generations.

In my spare time, I organise zombie walks for charity and even proposed to my wife at one of them!

Kajaal joined in August 2012 coming from a consumer industry and found it a challenge to pursue a career in the professional industry. She has come on leaps and bounds and now has her feet firmly on the ground.

In her spare time she enjoys babysitting her nieces and nephews.  Kajaal’s other hobbies include going to the gym and keeping fit. She also loves going shopping and meeting up with friends and family.

Sarah joined Grunberg in 2013 as Office Manager/Marketing Coordinator and provides assistance to the Partners including internal procedures and systems, internal communications and staff administration, website maintenance, newsletters, admin and marketing projects.

When she is not at work she is busy spending time with her two daughters usually taxiing them around to their friends and afterschool clubs.  She has also retaken up running to keep fit and is waiting for the moment when she actually starts to enjoy it.  She also loves going to the theatre and shopping with her girls!!!

Edwina is our afternoon receptionist, greeting clients and manning the reception area.  She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and anything crafty, including making crochet dogs from photographs people send  her of their dogs.

I look after the firm’s internal accounts and finance. This includes everything from day-to day-tasks to monthly management accounts to year-end accounts.

I have had an extensive career as a financial controller in leisure, primary care medical, charity and recently in the gaming industry.

Along with bookkeeping, accounts and finance, I am great at assisting with system transformation and improvements.

I successfully completed migration of accounting system and data and have taken over other change in process tasks.

I joined Grunberg & Co in October 2019, initially on a fixed-term contract but I have since been made a permanent member of the team.

I would describe myself as an all-rounder, as I have several years of experience within an office environment doing various tasks.

My role within the company is to provide support and assistance to the Office Manager, assisting with HR, marketing, facilities and administration.

I bring a positive approach to my colleagues and work and   am always hands-on to assist them to make their role easier. People say I am willing to go the extra mile.

I originally qualified as a solicitor in 2010, specialising in company law, and I have previously worked in large law firms and in-house with companies in the City of London.

Joining the firm in 2020, I am now not practising as a solicitor but I bring the wealth of experience I have from this background to the role of Company Secretarial Manager at Grunberg & Co, focusing on corporate compliance and governance.

I am the manager of a small team that assists Grunberg& Co’s clients with all manner of company secretarial work, such as annual compliance filings and ad-hoc transactions.

I am currently studying towards the ICSA (The Chartered Governance Institute) qualification.

My approach to work is simple – I focus on the details, whilst also keeping in mind the bigger picture and the needs of the firm’s clients.

To do this, I take the time to get to know clients, becoming someone that they can trust and know will get the job done.

I joined Grunberg & Co’s busy Bookkeeping team in September 2015 and is now a Senior Cloud Accountant.

I manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries, where I provide bookkeeping services, preparation of VAT returns, management accounts and ad-hoc advice.

Sharon joined Grunberg and Co , 8 years ago as a junior bookkeeper and is now joint bookkeeping manager.

Sharon is a self-confessed workaholic, but when not working she enjoys spending her time with her three grown up children and 3 year old granddaughter.

I joined Grunberg & Co in November 2019 after completing my A-Levels. I am now working towards completing the AAT Level 3 and then in the future will work towards the ACA qualification.

I am part of the Cloud Accounting Team, where I assist clients with quarterly VAT returns and general bookkeeping. I also help the rest of the team where possible with other bookkeeping and processing tasks.

I am focused on learning why certain things are done rather than just following the process, as it allows me to work on quarterly VAT returns and provide the client with an effective and efficient service.

ABOUT

I graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in Economics, Finance and Management and then did a masters in Management and Strategy at the London School of Economics prior to joining Grunberg & Co in 2021.

I am now working towards the prestigious ACA qualification, alongside my work within the firm’s Audit & Accounts team.

I am passionate about supporting clients’ needs by getting to know more about their businesses so that I can deliver carefully tailored advice and assistance.

I joined Grunberg & Co in October 2021, and later completed the ATT qualification, alongside my day-to-day work, which includes preparing tax returns, aiding the tax team in personal tax compliance and liaising with HMRC regarding client matters.

With a focus on my future, I am currently studying to become a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and widening my expertise by working with clients doing their tax returns, rental accounts, self-employment accounts and assisting with the tax treatment of non-domiciled/non-resident taxpayers.

I recently qualified and registered as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and have seven years’ experience in the audit and accounts production field.

Before joining Grunberg & Co, I had been an audit supervisor at a South African firm, where I managed audit engagements as well as the audit teams to ensure work was completed within the deadline.

Vijit is a CIPP qualified payroll professional with an extensive knowledge of payroll and pension laws, who heads up the Company’s payroll department.  Vijit has worked in the payroll industry for over 10 years, starting out his career in the hospitality sector where he obtained invaluable insight into providing the highest level of customer service.  He believes that every client is unique and he is passionate about assiting them with any payroll and pension queries.

I joined the firm in 2021 as an apprentice. I am currently assisting in the preparation of tax returns and P11D’s, liaising with clients on tax matters and dealing with HMRC.

I have six years of experience dealing with self-employed accounts, partnership accounts and tax returns and plan to continue building on this experience with Grunberg & Co.

Before getting my accounting qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), I received my Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai.

I’m an expert in personal tax, with specific areas of interest in helping our self-employed and partnership clients.

Equally, I have expertise in non-residence companies and international businesses.

When starting any project, I first start by understanding the client’s needs and expectations. I also make sure I communicate clearly and frequently with them, keeping clients up to date.

I also maintain good communication with my team and show appreciation by recognising every individual for the brilliant work that they do.

I have five years’ experience assisting with audits in South Africa for companies in the food and beverage, motor vehicles, I.T., investment property, engineering, and logistics sectors.

I obtained a Bcompt Financial Accounting Degree and am currently working towards achieving my ACCA qualification to become a chartered accountant.

One of my achievement highlights was at a previous firm – where I identified a significant error in a client’s year-end revenue balance by performing additional work based on the systems in place and then helping them correct it.

I view problems as puzzles. It helps to see how they fit together and that way you know what to do to reach a solution. Sometimes it’s arranging things in a different way, sometimes it’s because you’re missing a piece but there’s always a way to fix a problem.

I have a number of years of experience in auditing, predominantly in Hong Kong.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and certification from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  I specialise in the retail and property sectors and have extensive audit experience with international clients across Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and Malaysia.

One of the highlights of my career was consulting and assisting companies in obtaining listing on the US Nasdaq market. This achievement, alongside assisting several SPACs to list on Nasdaq, stands as one of my most significant career milestones to date.

I am multilingual speaking Cantonese, Mandarin, and English which broadens my global reach and ability to work with diverse clients and on complex projects.

I focus on understanding my client’s needs and maintaining long-term, positive connections. I enjoy problem-solving and approach this methodically, firstly identifying problems at their root, developing clear action plans, and implementing solutions effectively.

I am an audit and accounts semi-senior in charge of the completion of audit engagements and accounts preparations.

This involves the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit and accounts engagements as well as the resolution of issues identified during the engagement.

I assist and mentor the audit trainees assigned to these engagements and ensure that they develop an understanding of the client and exercise proper professional judgement.

I am a Senior Cloud Accounting Technician at Grunberg & Co, a role I started in June 2023. My primary objective is to support clients using cloud-based accounting software by processing bookkeeping information and reviewing and preparing client VAT returns.

My role also includes preparing and checking accounting data for errors and advising clients on ways to use software efficiently. This advice ensures the integrity of financial data and health of the client’s business.

In my role at Grunberg & Co, I am responsible for supporting my client’s business needs which range from day-to-day issues to annual statutory compliance requirements.

APPROACH TO WORK

I enjoy ensuring that our clients are supported in their accounting practices, whether that is within compliance work, processing data, or providing training and advice in using cloud accounting software. I go above and beyond to ensure that I exceed my client’s expectations.

My role as an Audit & Accounts Senior at Grunberg & Co involves leading audits and the audit team, whilst also preparing accounts and taxation where required.

I also prepare financial statements on IFRS for SMEs and IFRS for other entity-specific frameworks.

Additionally, I am involved in the preparation of tax computation and filing tax reports and have provided clients with assurance reports such as factual findings, reporting, and agreed-upon procedures.

I follow a systematic approach to my work as we are required to follow specific methodologies in the audit industry.

As a part of the Tax Team at Grunberg & Co, I assist clients with the preparation and submission of their personal tax returns and meeting the statutory deadlines.

I also support clients and colleagues with issues and advise them when needed on a range of complex tax issues.

I am currently studying for the prestigious CTA qualification, which I hope to complete soon.

Gerry works in the tax department, providing help and advice regarding most aspects of general, personal and corporation tax compliance.

When not doing that he loves listening to and playing drums to my favourite music, supporting Manchester United and avoiding the abuse for doing so.

Joshua has joined Grunberg & Co. as a Tax Trainee and is currently studying towards becoming an ATT Professional Tax Technician.

In his spare time he enjoys staying healthy, playing a variety of sports and socialising with friends.

Jyoti started her career in tax with a West End firm, before joining Grunberg & Co in the latter half of 2007 to gain wider exposure. Since joining the firm she has gained experience in various aspects of income tax, capital gains, VAT, and the construction industry scheme.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking and shopping!

Sunil has a diverse portfolio of clients, dealing with capital gains tax, income from property, self-employment and corresponding with HM Revenue and Customs.

In his spare time Sunil like to play squash and tennis.  He also likes socialise with friends’ colleagues, watch football and tennis.

As an Audit and Accounts Associate, I help to prepare the financial accounts for clients and undertake audits for businesses.  

I have a degree in Economics and look forward to building on my expertise in accounting here at Grunberg& Co.  

We have clients ranging from local businesses to large multinational corporations and I pride myself on the fact that I always produce high quality work for every client.

I try to stay up to date with industry developments and I’m always looking to refine my understanding of financial regulations, standards, and best practices.  

I often translate the lessons I have learned from studying towards my ACA qualification, to solidify my abilities and knowledge of accounting. 

Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and registering with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is one of my proudest achievements to date and an example of my determination to progress in my career thus far.

I always strive to be the best version of myself and to improve my knowledge of technological accounting processes.

I have recently been working to improve my understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) which act as a set of accounting rules, standards, and procedures.

Outside of work, I enjoy going fishing. As the saying goes: “You can’t buy happiness, but you can go fishing, and that’s pretty much the same thing!”

I develop good relationships with my clients and communicate with them regularly. I always conduct an introductory call and provide them with the audit’s expectations. I thereafter regularly update the client on the audit’s progress.

I always approach problems with a calm and clear mind, starting at the basics to determine a clear approach that will lead us to a satisfactory conclusion.

Rebecca joined the Grunberg & Co. team in 2023 with previous experience in Trust tax compliance. 

She completed her ATT qualification in 2022 and is currently working towards the CTA certificate.  

As an Accounts Semi-Senior, Rebecca manages a portfolio of clients and offers advice on their individual financial circumstances.

Rebecca is motivated to keep increasing her tax knowledge and honing her craft to provide the best possible service to her growing list of clients.  

I am learning and developing the basics of bookkeeping, as I acquire a deeper understanding of the latest cloud accounting technology.

I help the senior team members in the cloud accounting team with a wide range of issues to ensure our clients receive exemplary services.

My goal is to continue to progress so that I can confidently take care of clients and gain more experience.

I believe that I have a positive approach to work and always try my best in every task. When I am unsure and need guidance with a task, I ask suitable questions to expand my knowledge of the latest cloud accounting innovations.

I joined Grunberg & Co in October 2022 as a Semi-Senior within the Audit & Accounts department. I have five years experience of working within the audit and accountancy sector.

My main duties involve undertaking account preparation and audit assignment fieldwork, alongside aiding in the development of the firm’s trainees.

Alongside developing the skills of trainees, I am continuing my own personal progression and knowledge through the valuable assistance of my fellow colleagues.

I gain satisfaction from taking on new challenges and continuing to obtain valuable experience and knowledge from my mentors to consistently improve myself. I believe that being available and approachable to clients is fundamental.

As a Tax Associate, I am responsible for supporting the team in the preparation of tax returns for self-assessments, partnerships, and rental accounts.

I have a particular interest in personal tax and compliance and look forward to gaining technical knowledge of both during my time working at Grunberg & Co.

In addition to my work, I am currently studying towards the ATT CTA qualification to becoming a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Jess is primarily responsible for trainee recruitment, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and conducting initial interviews.

She ensures that the trainee hiring process functions like a well-oiled machine.

She is also crucial to the employee onboarding process and assisting the HR department with compliance and policies.

Jess performs her tasks with enthusiasm and covers a broad range of administrative and organisational responsibilities.

My role is currently to learn as much as I can about audits and accounts so that I can put this into practice and deliver support to clients.

As part of my role, I have been involved in a wide range of tasks, including the preparation and completion of accounts.

Alongside my support of other members of the audit and accounts team, I am also studying for the AAT qualification – with hopes of one day becoming an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

I am currently working towards my AAT qualification and hopefully will be pursuing the ACA certificate in the future.

I am proud to have recently completed account production, final packs, and bank analysis work for clients to an extremely high standard.

Liaising with fellow colleagues, organizing every piece of data diligently, and having good time management allows me to provide Grunberg & Co’s clients with the highest level of service.

I have a dedicated and detail-oriented approach to my work, ensuring the upmost accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

I joined the tax team in 2023 to broaden my experience and knowledge, having previously worked in trusts, accounts, and audit in the past.

I work within the tax department managing a portfolio of personal tax clients including landlords, business owners, and directors with various income sources.

My expertise in tax compliance ensures that it is dealt with promptly. My role keeps clients’ tax affairs up to date.

My approach consists of meticulously building relationships with clients to understand their tax affairs, enabling me to provide tailored advice and assistance with tax compliance and other queries.

As a Personal Assistant at Grunberg & Co, I am part of the Administrative Team, supporting the Partners and assisting with the onboarding of new clients, anti-money laundering procedures and general maintenance of diaries. 

I also assist clients with their queries and questions on a daily basis, always striving to provide the best quality client care.
