UK technology exports generated £3.2 billion for the UK economy last year, according to the latest data from the Department for International Trade (DIT).
The report highlights an increase in the exports of robots and spacecraft, worth £62 million and £282 million respectively, with UK exports of robots increasing by over 200 per cent since 2013.
Latest figures from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) show that goods exports from the South-East increased by over four per cent to £47.7 billion, with exports from London increasing by more than six per cent to £38.9 billion.
According to the DIT figures, London and the South East have a significant impact on the UK’s digital industry, contributing a large number of exports.
