Reanda UK delegation prove very popular at international conference in Malaysia

Representatives from leading accountancy network Reanda UK have taken part in an important international conference with their fellow global members in Kuala Lumpur.

Alain Stechler and Peter McMahon of Reanda UK addressed the crowds at the Reanda International two-day conference in Malaysia regarding the state of the UK market, and in particular its M&A activity, following the vote to leave the EU.

Their speech, which covered the effect of Brexit on M&A, the importance of due diligence and the opportunities available to businesses from around the world, was extremely well received and they soon found themselves being questioned by fellow Reanda International members from across the Far East and the rest of the world.

Speaking after the conference, Alain, a partner at London-based Grunberg & Co – of which Reanda UK is a wholly owned subsidiary – said: “The reception we had in Malaysia was fantastic and our fellow members were very keen to speak with us.

“It is clear that they see the UK as a fairly important part of their international strategy and so they were happy to receive guidance and advice from us.

“In the last year we have handled a lot of important client cases and we are looking to work more with our fellow Reanda International members to expand our network of clients and contacts.”

During the conference Alain and Peter were taken to the ministry buildings in Kuala Lumpur where they met the Chairman of Reanda’s Malaysian branch, Neil Foo, who is well-known in the country as CEO of the Secretariat for the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs (SAME).

The also had the honour of speaking at an extravagant event attended by the President of Malaysia, Najib Razak, where they met a number of high-profile people from across the country.

The event also explored Reanda International’s growth and saw the signing up of Reanda Malta and Reanda Nepal, while there was also an agreement of intent for the creation of a new member firm in Portugal.

Peter, who is a member of the Reanda International tax panel and Tax Partner at Grunberg & Co, also met with fellow members to discuss how their clients could best explore opportunities in the UK.

He said: “It is clear that Reanda International is a fast growing group and attending conferences such as this gives us a fantastic opportunity to network with some of the world’s leading accountancy firms.

“During this busy two day conference we were lucky enough to speak with a number of highly influential people and businesses and share our experience of M&A activity and our specialism in other areas. So all round it was fantastic to be a part of this event.”
