UK exports of goods of services reached a record high in the 12 months to the end of May 2019, according to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The total figure for exports reached £647.1 billion, which is a four per cent increase on the previous year, while goods exports increased by 4.7 per cent, reaching a total of £357.1 billion.

The news comes as exports fall worldwide, with the global economy feeling the effects of the trade war between the US and China.
The UK has had 38 consecutive months of export growth on an annual basis, meaning that each month has surpassed the same month in the previous year.
The UK services industry saw an increase of 3.3 per cent in exports, meaning that there is now a trade surplus of £107.3 billion in the sector, while fuel exports grew by 25.9 per cent to reach £39.3 billion.
